Life slaps all of us down at some point. The critical factor is what we do AFTER the kick in the…head. Granted, I triggered this recent upheaval by breaking an engagement after a five-year relationship. But that surely didn’t lessen the emotional impact. Making that decision was wrenching and difficult. But I had finally internalized those hard-learned lessons to prioritize a healthy future. Even if it meant going it alone.
The house we built together—with all the touches I love—is now for sale. I’ve already moved to a lower-maintenance place. Smaller, a tad outdated, but with room to display my vintage clothing collection. I well know that I’m fortunate to have a home, when so many are suffering and displaced. Through my sliding doors, the orange glow is from sunsets, diffused through the pines.
I’m alone, but not lonely. There’s a sense of community and cozy serenity here. After three months of stress, emotional turmoil, and reflection, I’m steady again and ready to tackle a positive 2025. I hope the same for all of you. Forging ahead, I’m thankful for multiple blessings, including readers who write lovely reviews and invite me to join them for fun local events. I thrive on keeping active and engaged.
Big Book News…

On the writing front, I do have sweeter news. While there are no guarantees, a respected traditional press is reading The Eighth Wonder of Lillian Sinclair in consideration to publish it. I’m crossing my fingers and toes that this truth-based story holds its interest! To help you begin to envision the tale, here are some photos from the magnificent West Baden Springs Hotel in southern Indiana.
When a fire destroyed their original mineral spa hotel, the Sinclair family galvanized to rebuild the largest free-standing dome in the world. Overshadowed by her audacious father, adoring only-child Lillian sacrificed love and friendship to preserve the family’s world-renowned legacy. When the Great War and a pandemic left her unable to repay a massive loan, the heiress had to decide whether to save the cherished heritage or finally pursue her own path—including passion with a much-younger soldier. The book abounds with drama and romance, set from 1901-1918.
